BriefBuilt Cookie Policy
Last updated: 15 August 2026
This policy explains cookies and similar browser storage used on briefbuilt.com. It supplements the Privacy Policy.
1. Your choice
Strictly necessary technologies are used without consent where permitted because the site, security, checkout or a feature you request cannot work without them. Optional cookies or browser storage and consent-dependent analytics, personalisation or marketing uses are activated only after consent where required. An integration may still load or send limited technical or consent-state signals, including advanced-consent cookieless measurement pings where supported, without placing optional cookies; the current Google & YouTube integration is described below. “Accept” and “Reject” must be equally accessible in the first layer. Change or withdraw your choice at any time through “Cookie preferences” in the footer.
2. Categories
- Necessary: Shopify storefront, cart, checkout, fraud/security, load balancing, privacy-choice storage and requested chat functionality.
- Preferences: remembers choices such as the newsletter popup being closed. BriefBuilt stores `briefbuilt_newsletter_closed` locally for 14 days; it is not used to track you across websites.
- Analytics: BriefBuilt uses Google Analytics 4 through Shopify’s official Google & YouTube pixel to understand use of the public storefront and improve its performance. The pixel is active. Shopify currently reports its permission as “Not required — The pixel will always run” and its data-access setting as “Optimized”. Depending on Shopify’s and Google’s regional consent handling, the integration may therefore load and may transmit limited technical or consent-state signals, including advanced-consent cookieless measurement pings where supported, before or without analytics consent. This does not establish that full cookie-based analytics, personalised advertising or other consent-dependent uses operate before consent. Optional cookie identifiers, advertising personalisation and other consent-dependent uses require the applicable permission. BriefBuilt has tested the EEA public-storefront consent choices for accept all, decline all, analytics-only consent and withdrawal. Checkout and customer-account consent propagation, and the exact content of any cookieless measurement pings sent while analytics consent is denied, remain under verification. Paid advertising and reliance on consent-dependent campaign measurement remain disabled until those checks are complete. Where the applicable analytics permission exists, Google Analytics may process cookie or device identifiers, consent status, browser and device information, approximate location derived from technical connection data, public page URLs or titles, timestamps and interactions such as page views, scrolling and views of a service package. BriefBuilt does not deliberately send names, email addresses, project briefs, free-text form content, private project links or payment-card data to Google Analytics. Declining analytics does not prevent normal use of the website or the Free Shopify Store Preview request form. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time through “Cookie preferences” in the footer; withdrawal stops future consent-dependent analytics collection from that point, although limited cookieless or technical signals may still be sent where Shopify’s and Google’s settings permit. Data already collected before withdrawal remains subject to the applicable retention setting and your data-protection rights. The BriefBuilt GA4 property is currently configured to retain event data associated with cookies, user identifiers or advertising identifiers for two months and user data for fourteen months. The user-data period currently resets on new user activity, so an active identifier may remain available for longer than fourteen months from its first collection. These settings do not remove most aggregated standard reports in the same way. BriefBuilt last verified these settings on 15 August 2026. Provider: Google Ireland Limited and its approved affiliates and subprocessors, through the Google & YouTube integration supplied for Shopify.
- Shopify Network Intelligence (Enhanced Service): Shopify Network Intelligence is currently enabled for BriefBuilt. Shopify describes this Enhanced Service as using customer data together with other Shopify data to improve Shopify products, ad targeting and personalisation for this store. Shopify currently reports that its automated data-sharing opt-out page is not required for the regions in which BriefBuilt sells; this automated assessment may change with the store's markets, visitor location or applicable law. Where Shopify presents a privacy or opt-out control, you may use that control. Where consent is required, you can change or withdraw your choice through “Cookie preferences”. Current activation does not establish that all related processing is necessary, consent-exempt or confined to the European Union. Exact data fields, roles, downstream recipients and uses, retention, deletion, international transfers and consent propagation across storefront, checkout and customer accounts remain under verification. BriefBuilt does not rely on Network Intelligence for paid advertising or enable paid checkout until the applicable controls and provider evidence have passed the launch gate.
